Junior Premier League (JPL) Squads – Developing Oxfordshire’s Top Players

Since our inception in 2017, Oxfordshire RTC has experienced rapid growth, expanding both our training centres and JPL squads to provide the best possible development opportunities for talented players. Our JPL squads now compete across all age groups from Under 9 to Under 16, and in the 2025/26 season, we will further expand by introducing two U9 and two U10 teams, reinforcing our commitment to player development at all levels.

A Proven Pathway...

The RTC has seen over 30 players progress into professional clubs, including Forest Green Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Oxford United, Northampton Town, QPR, Reading, and more recently, Southampton FC and Manchester United. Our focus remains on identifying and nurturing talent, ensuring that players receive the necessary coaching, support, and opportunities to take their game to the next level.

The JPL squads provide an opportunity for ambitious players to refine their skills, techniques, and confidence in a holistic and challenging environment. Competing in the Junior Premier League, players gain valuable experience against strong opposition, helping them develop both individually and as part of a team.

Training & Match Commitments

• Weekly training with an additional session available for players

• Saturday fixtures in our regional Junior Premier League

• Showcase fixtures against professional clubs around the region.

• Competitive matches to accelerate technical, tactical, and psychological development

Player Identification & Recruitment

​

All players for the JPL squads are selected through open sessions and Talent ID days, which are attended by scouts from across the region. This ensures that the most promising players are identified and provided with the opportunity to develop within a professional structure.
